Free barbell calculators
Know exactly what to load.
Enter your target. Get the exact plates per side. LiftLoadout is a free barbell calculator for lifters who'd rather spend their rest time resting — not doing plate math on their fingers.
Adjust plate inventory
Use − / + to match what you own. Two plates make one usable pair. Results update instantly.
One workflow, three tools.
LiftLoadout covers the full arc of a training session. Figure out your one-rep max from a recent hard set, build a warm-up ladder to your working weight, then load the bar above — every step respects the same plate inventory, so the answer is always something you can actually build.
Most plate calculators assume a fully stocked commercial gym. LiftLoadout doesn't: tell it which plates are on your rack and it will never hand you an impossible answer. If your inventory can't hit a target exactly, you get the closest achievable load and the difference — never a guess.

LiftLoadout was built around the complaints lifters have about every other plate calculator: broken kilogram modes, no way to enter a limited home-gym inventory, no collar option, and key features locked behind paywalls. Here, unit switching is exact, decimals are never truncated, and everything is free in your browser.

Common questions.
How does the LiftLoadout plate calculator work?
Enter your target total and bar weight. LiftLoadout subtracts the bar (and collars, if enabled), splits the rest per side, and finds the exact plate combination from the inventory you set. If your plates can't build the target exactly, it shows the closest achievable load instead of a wrong answer.
Does it work in kilograms?
Yes. Tap KG in the header to switch units instantly. Conversions keep full decimal precision — 1.25 kg plates stay 1.25, never truncated — and the plate set, bar presets, and collar weights switch to metric standards.
Is LiftLoadout really free?
Yes. Every calculator is free in your browser with no login, no app download, and no locked features. Your plate inventory is saved on your device only.
Can I share a calculation with my coach?
Yes. Every result has a Share button that copies a link encoding your exact setup — target, bar, collars, unit, and inventory. Anyone opening the link sees the same calculation.
